I had the pleasure of indulging in a truly authentic Uzbek feast, where every dish reflected a deep respect for tradition and flavor.
The highlight of the meal was the Uzbek plov, a dish that embodies the heart of Central Asian cuisine. True to its origins, it was generously packed with vegetables, giving it a well-balanced taste and texture. The rice was perfectly cooked—fluffy yet rich, infused with aromatic spices that made each bite a pleasure. It was a dish that felt both hearty and wholesome, just as plov should be.
Another standout was the samsa, a traditional baked pastry that was remarkably squishy and healthy. The dough had the perfect softness, while the filling was packed with flavor. Unlike heavier versions, this samsa felt light, making it an excellent complement to the meal.
I just ate at Mazali, and it was fantastic! The Samsa with Potatoes was warm and flaky, the Homemade Fruitpunch was super refreshing, and the Authentic Plov was packed with flavor. You can tell everything is made with care and fresh ingredients. Honestly, some of the best food I’ve had in a while. If you’re craving Uzbek food, this place won’t disappoint. Can’t wait to come back!
Tried Uzbek cuisine in Charlotte for the first time, and the order came out pretty quickly. The plov was incredible, the dough for the samsa perfectly crispy, but the boso lagman had too much soy sauce, and the veggies weren’t fresh – tasted like frozen ones. Overall, definitely recommend!
